Ascendants and Religion

Page history last edited by Eloth 9 years, 6 months ago
Steven Erikson: are all gods ascendants? If you mean ascendant in the general sense of being very powerful, then yes. If you mean ascendant in terms of progression, then there are exceptions. Most of the animistic ones, for example (the totemic, tribal ones) derived from the act of worship, or the attribution of significance to a particular place. - Q and A with malazanempire No 2 (2003)

Secul Lath is the son of Kilmandaros, so we can cut the "/dess"-part. Ardata and Olar Ethil should also be added on the Elder God list

The Bridgeburners have been mentioned as having ascended on several occasions following the battle against the pantheon early in the series. Fiddler, Toc the Younger, Kalam, Quick Ben, and several others have all exhibited powers/resistances/abilities.
