'Dressed in faded ochre robes, the man was solid, broad-shouldered and at least seven feet tall. A long, iron-hued ponytail swpt down between his shoulders, bound just above the small of his back with a dull length of chain.'
'Huge tusks framed his thin mouth, jutting from his lower lip. The greenish cast of his weathered skin made him look ghostly, despite the hearth's warm light. Eyes the colour of dirty ice regarded them.'
DG, uk mmpb, p.898
"Gothos himself,a
Jaghut wizard who had descended the deepest warrens of Elder Magic, had praised the gods of the time that the
Tiste Andii were so few in number."

GotM, US HC, p.159
'Gothos's curse was in being too aware - of everything. Every permutation, every potential. Enough to poison every scan he cast on the world. It availed him naught, and worse, he was aware of even that.'

'Gothos was Jaghut...and as sour-tempered a writer as Ive ever had the displeasure of reading'

Gothos' Folly
"'
Bellurdan has done some research in
Genabaris, Sorceress. Some new scrolls of
Gothos' Folly were discovered in a mountain fastness beyond
Blackdog Forest. Among the writings are discussion of the
Tiste Andii, and other peoples from the Elder Age.'"

'Gothos's Folly. There's mention of three Tiste peoples arriving from another realm. Of course the only one that's known to us is the
Tiste Andii, and Gothos only names one of the other groups -
Tiste Edur. Grey-skinned, not black. Children of the unwelcome union of Mother Dark with the Light.'

The First Days of the Sundering of Emurlahn
The Edur Invasion, the Age of Scabandri Bloodeye
The Time of The Elder Gods
On a glacial berm, overlooking the destruction of the war, Gothos began to weave the sorcery of Omtose Phellack to destroy it. As he weaved he felt the betrayal of Silchas Ruin by Scabandri Bloodeye.
From behind, the Elder God Mael approached. Mael asked Gothos to preserve the land rather than destroy in exchange for a indebtedness to him. Gothos, accepting, went to work.
As bitter cold "descended like a shroud", Gothos followed the path of battle where Mael and Kilmandaros fought Scabandri. Arriving at a vast fissure, where two voices were raised in argument, Gothos opened his warren allowing him a slow descent. At the bottom stood Mael and Kilmandaros along with the severely injured Soletaken dragon. Scabandri's ribs were shattered, one wing half torn away, a broken hind limb and various bones puncturing his skin. Gothos tells Mael that the ritual is "more or less" done.
Kilmandaros moved forward to kill Scabandri but Mael and Gothos stop her. Gothos explains with the ritual that now descends on the land, if Scabandri is killed his soul will wander only marginally reduced in power, but Kilmandaros still means to kill him.
Gothos offers to fashion a Finnest to imprison the soul, in exchange for a debt. Kilmandaros bitterly agrees and Gothos reveals his Finnest. Kilmandaros drives her fist in Scabandri's skull, imprisoning him. Mael offers to take the Finnest but Gothos declines saying he will have it in exchange for the two's debt. Kilmandaros is displeased. Mael asks what he will do with it, and Gothos replies, "I have not yet decided, but I assure you, it will be most curiously unpleasant."
