Is Dessembrae actually Dassem Ultor, and is there a link to Dessimbelackis?

 

 

The answers are yes, and no. 

 

 

Dassem Ultor is certainly Dessembrae, Lord of Tears. See Dassem's page on the wiki for the evidence, but the most concise piece is:

 

 

''Dessembrae. The Cult of Dassem.''

The similarity of name to Dessimbelackis has led many to speculate that Dassem Ultor is somehow connected to the mysterious leader of the First Human Empire. However, the author has flatly denied in interviews that the characters are linked. (ref needed). I think we can take his word for it.
