At the beginning of NoK, she is a sharp-eyed and intelligent young thief, with a talent that has yet to be developed.  "A youth hoping to enter Imperial service."

Interesting Connection to Ganoes Paran: Kiska and Ganoes were both present in Malaz the night "the army had enforced the Regent's new edict against magery, and it had all spiralled out of control" (NoK, p.68).

 At the end of NoK she meets Tayschrenn and is subsequently hired. We find out in BH in which capacity...

"Flanking Tayschrenn were two bodyguards, one an aged Seti...The other was a woman somewhere between twenty-five and thirty-five, lithe and athletic beneath tight silks. The eyes were soft and dark brown, watchful; her hair was cut short in the imperial fashion around her heart-shaped face.

'...Anyway, the bald one's Tayschrenn, with Hattar and Kiska this time...' "
