There are two forms of Paralt poison, coming from alternately a Snake or Spider of the same name. The Snake poison causes a quick death, but effect of the Spider's poison is a protracted, intensely painful death, and is seen as too dishonorable to use by members of the Claw, Empress Laseen's Assassins.
