Co-creator of the Malazan universe, and fellow author of Steven Erikson.

Some of the chapter headings in the early books are Esslemont in-jokes - see Esslee Monot.

Will produce five companion books to Erikson's Tales of the Malazan Book of the Fallen. So far, he's completed Night of Knives and Return of the Crimson Guard. The third is to be titled Stonewielder.
